Screaming Baby’s Web Site Goes Live

Today saw the launch of the Business Startup Screaming Baby Limited's web site (www.screamingbaby.co.uk). Screaming Baby approached us to build the site because they felt we could cater for them better due to their business status. Being a startup company and having lots of other business issues to deal with they felt that they needed to partner with someone who could look after everything "web site". They were completely in the dark and didn't know where to turn. Because of the theme of the site and nature of its intent we decided to donate our hours for free to them.

Screaming Baby was grown out of an idea by two parents to provide a place where other parents could gather information about being parents. They could digest and share information and tips, ideas and form a community online about their trials and tribulations of being a parent. It is Screaming Baby's mission that Screaming Baby will become a community of parents that can organise, share, buy, sell, blog, and provide anything with the "baby" theme. 

Requirements

Screaming Baby told us that they wanted an easy to use system where they could add and update content without having to learn HTML or any other programming. They wanted an extremely un-cluttered, simple pink (baby themed) design. Very minimalist in design seemed like a big deal to them so thats what we gave them. 

The Solution

In completing the project we combined 3 to 4 different services into one manged project, Web Design, Content Management Systems, Web Application Hosting, and some on-site Search Engine Optimisation and training for the team at Screaming Baby.

We had to come up with an easy to use, cost effective solution for all the Screaming Baby team to use. We decided that we would use a Content Management Systems approach to the project so that they could provide content in a sturctured manner using a simple to use word style editor. The system was designed to provide editable areas and non-editable areas so that the team dont damage the structure of the site by accident.  The system we implemented is accessible through a web browser, from any computer with an Internet connection.  

Screaming Baby wanted to go with the pink theme that they had in their logo. They stressed that they wanted minimal junk and clutter on the pages. They stressed that in their efforts to find infomation during their time raising their own kids they were always faced with web sites that were full of junk, adverts and flashing images. They categorically did not want this.

We also provide them with Web Application Hosting and email addresses for 4 different content providers.

With the requirements that Screaming Baby had and the solutions we provided show that Screaming Baby have made a positive step in appointing Red Zoo Internet as their strategic digital partner and we continue to work together to deliver exciting new upgrades and features throughout 2008 and 2009.
